A Trauma-Informed Community
Affecting Change Where We Live, Work, and Gather.
How We Define Trauma
“Trauma occurs when the stress of an event or circumstance overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope. Circumstances vary widely and are individual, but trauma occurs when a threat to the physical or emotional well-being takes place and causes lasting adverse effects.” (SAMHSA)
What is a Trauma-Informed Community?
A Trauma-Informed Community comes together with a shared vision and commitment to promote community-wide awareness, resilience, and resources for healing.
We’re actively writing the narrative for more compassion, grace, understanding, and respect as we destigmatize trauma and its many effects and impacts on our local community.
Trauma Responsive Monadnock is establishing the framework, informed by the lived experience and effects of trauma, both personal and collective, as we provide information, education, resources, and events.
We take an inclusive, human-focused, forward-thinking approach to helping members of our community fully heal to revitalize, realize, and express their potential.
